Pink Festival Lantern Kohiki Cup

I shaped this cup with the paper lanterns of Japanese festivals in mind. Its full middle, narrower top and bottom, and stripes echo a lantern's rounded form. The pink kohiki surface carries a little of that festive feeling into an everyday cup.

One-of-a-kind wheel-thrown dark stoneware cup with pink kohiki slip and carved details.
