Green Koi Pond Porcelain Cup

I imagined this green cup as a small koi pond. The stretched fish patterns around the outside become almost abstract, while a little koi appears in relief inside, as though peeking out of the water. Koi are associated with perseverance in Japanese culture, giving this playful cup a quiet note of encouragement.

One-of-a-kind wheel-thrown porcelain cup with a patterned exterior and an added fish detail inside the bottom.
