Summer Ojizosan with Red Mount Fuji

This miniature Ojizosan is my joyful interpretation of Jizo, the compassionate guardian of Japanese Buddhist tradition. The summer landscape on the robe features red Mount Fuji, which I connect with strength, endurance, and happiness. Its smile, carved character for happiness, and hands joined in prayer express my wish for a peaceful world.
